Robyn Boersma

Robyn is a retired police officer from the Bay Area. During her Law Enforcement career she taught defensive tactics, arrest and control procedures, baton techniques, CPR and First Aid, and she was a field training officer. Her favorite part of her Law Enforcement career was working as a Hostage Negotiator. Her career ending after she suffered a severe cervical spine injury. That is when she began intensive training and therapy to regain her pre-injury mobility and functionality.

Robyn holds a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Communication and a Master of Science Degree in Health Science and Education, with an emphasis in Anatomy and Physiology. Robyn has been teaching since 1998.

After retirement, Robyn and her husband moved to the tranquility of the beautiful desert! Having always loved fitness and wellness, Robyn became an ACE Certified Personal Trainer and Group Fitness Instructor and began teaching Boot Camp, Cardio Sculpt, Circuit Training, Tabata and Stretch Classes.

She was introduced to Pilates and immediately experienced the healing benefits. She completed the comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training program through Pilates Sports Center. The focus of her Pilates training has been both classical and progressive with special emphasis in MAT, Reformer, Cadillac, and the Wunda Chair.

When she is not teaching, she enjoys spending time with her husband, David, and their three dogs, Whiskey, Harley, and Gizmo. In their free time, they enjoy fine dining and a delicious glass of Cabernet. They often play tourist and experience all that the desert community has to offer. They also love to travel, especially on cruises!
