Eric MayerEric

Pilates Teacher • Personal Trainer

In 2019, Eric completed the rigorous, 400-hour comprehensive Pilates Teacher Training Program at VIDA Fitness in Washington, D.C. Prior to that, Eric became a certified personal trainer through the National Academy of Sports Medicine (NASM), where he began his career in fitness.

With a deep understanding and appreciation, Eric blends functional strength training techniques with the classical Pilates method to create a well-rounded workout on any given apparatus. With a major emphasis on transitions and flow, Eric likes to think of his Pilates as not a series of movements but rather one continuous movement. His style is heavily influenced by the work of Romana Kryzanowska and the classical advanced Reformer series.

Eric always finds himself going back to the original Pilates method, because it works. Through the work of Joseph Pilates, Eric hopes to educate his students on their own bodies so that they can move better in their everyday life, enabling them to stand taller longer.

Eric grew up in Centreville, Virginia, a suburb of Washington, D.C., and quickly moved to the city upon graduating from Virginia Tech in 2017. He has always led an active life, playing soccer through high school and quickly finding a passion for personal health and fitness. Outside of the Pilates studio, you can find Eric in a CrossFit gym, playing with his cat, and listening to Mariah Carey.
