Eliezer
Pilates Teacher
Eliezer “Eli’’ Rabelo is a dancer-choreographer from Brazil, where he started his career. He has over 30 years of experience in the performing arts, having performed principal roles with the resident company at Amazon Opera House and several ballet and modern dance companies throughout Brazil and the U.S., including the renowned Los Angeles-based Lula Washington Dance Theatre.
Eli has developed ballet, modern dance, jazz, and Pilates curricula at different institutions, and founded projects dedicated to the arts, including Companhia Ballet da Barra in his hometown of Manaus, the capital city of the Amazonas state in Brazil, located in the heart of the Amazon Rainforest. He has studied with many masters in ballet, modern dance, jazz, Pilates, voice, and cello.
Currently, Eli is teaching in various dance studios within the Inland Empire — and at his own 11th Hour Dancer Project — with the goal of providing opportunities for mature dancers to keep performing and passing along the art of dance.
His experience and passion for dance is contagious. He focuses on the principles to ensure the highest quality of care and technique in his work, while integrating form and fun for a more efficient workout during his classes — whether the student is a professional or someone who may have just started on a journey as a performer.
You can catch Eli’s work here in the Inland Empire. Just don’t be surprised if he’s speaking Portuguese, Spanish, or even a bit of Italian.
